420 Freedom Fest 2010 - Las Vegas, NV - April 24, 2010 -

Fremont Street Rock the Block

Featuring: One Pin Short, Big B, Hed PE,

Unwritten Law, and Kotton Mouth Kings

When I arrived at Freedom Fest in downtown Las Vegas, the line must have
been 3 blocks long. While waiting in line for a bit, some tourists heading
up Fremont Street, stopped and asked me if we were in line for "Weed Fest",
to which I replied "yes we are", everyone laughed. Finally, we made our way
to the entrance, where security were confiscating all  beverages, there
were garbage cans filled with unopened beer, wine, etc.

After making my way inside I realized it was much smaller than the previous
year, but a pretty cool set-up, tucked in between Neonopolis and the El
Cortez Hotel
. The show started with One Pin Short, crowd response was fairly
decent. Then Big B took the stage and things started to heat up! I was taking pics of the crowd,

when I noticed a huge pit starting to pick up speed, kids were getting mauled over!
But it was pretty cool to watch, from a distance.

After a very tight performance from Big B, Hed PE came out on stage and the
crowd went wild, Jared really gets the crowd moving. This night was no exception,

an enormous pit broke out during Hed PE's first song,

and continued throughout their set.

I noticed a few bloody nose's and a busted lip and a few fights

but other than that thing's went pretty smooth
After the onslaught of Hed PE, Unwritten Law took
the stage and the crowd settled down a bit, but still remained rowdy as they
did not disappoint. Half way through their set, Big B joined them on stage
for his song Sinner, featuring Scott Russo. This got the best response of
the night for Unwritten Law.

After a flawless performance, the crowd was definitely ready for the
Kotton Mouth Kings, when they came on, the crowd went nuts! Crowd surfing
and raging pits, all over the place, lasted the rest of the evening. Then
when they broke out into Bump the whole place was jumping up & down. They
definitely brought it, to Vegas! Very energetic performance to say the least.

The Event staff were very professional , all night, had a great time. Thanks
to Rock the Block personnel who made accessing the event, easy. A huge
